Dragonflies are expert fliers, being able to hover like a colibri, go straight up and down, and change direction rapidly. With their eyes taking most of the volume of their heads, they have an incredibly well developed sight. This makes them formidable hunters and very hard to capture subjects with a camera.
This common scarlet dragonfly is resting on a fishing net in a remote fishing village on the Tonlé Sap lake, close to Siam Reap in Cambodia.
