The heart of the off the beaten path city of Toulon is composed of narrow medieval streets with the shapes of the former gutter in the middle of its main roads. The architecture is typical of Southern France. Lately these streets are being renovated, housing families and shop-owners who fight the increasing popularity of bigger malls out of town.
