Photo of the day: The traditional “pointu”, French Riviera

Far from the luxurious yatchs that can be spotted all along the French Riviera, the colourful pointus are the traditional fishing boats. The captains of these robust ships get out of the harbour a few hours before sunset to place their nets which will be picked up in the early morning. Back in the harbour,  these catches are sold directly to the customers who will cook them in a bouillabaisse for instance.
