Pic of the day: A local among the ruins of Uxmal, Mexico

Strolling through the ruins of Uxmal, Mexico we come across one of its inhabitants: a white-nosed coati, or “pizote” as the locals call him.

This friendly animal is  a family member of the racoons. They eat fruits, veggies, snakes and insects during the day and at night they hide in the trees as they are good climbers and less vulnerable for their predators.
