Nagasaki is in all history books: on August 9, 1945, the “fat man” atomic bomb was dropped by the B-29 Superfortress Bockscar destroying the city, killing more than 85 000 inhabitants (out of 263 000). Nagasaki is where the first Portuguese ship arrived in 1543 opening a new chapter in history. Nagasaki, the only city from where Japan and the rest of the world traded and exchanged for 2 centuries (1641-1859). Nagasaki is a very nice city surrounded by mountains overlooking a beautiful bay.

After a short and steep run from the city center, one is surrounded by peaceful and quiet gardens along the mountain slopes.
